LIAR!! LIAR!!

"Thou Shalt not LIE"

The Bible says we shouldn't lie but sometimes I feel like lying is mandatory. Wait! I have my reasons for that statement. Ok, here's the deal, I have a 3 year old daughter ((out of wedlock)) && her father and I are 3 states apart. Everytime she asks for her father  I tell her something like "Daddy loves you babe but he has some things he has to care of in N.Y"...or "You're Daddy will come see you soon" ((knowing in the back of my head he's not even thinking bout going through the Holland Tunnel much less the New Jersey turnpike)) But sometimes that lie is what helps her make it through the day happy. I mean am I wrong for that??

So here's the deal... I sort of have a "dilemma." I'm striving to make a change in my life && I'm really contemplating on getting baptized. Getting baptized is a huge decision that only you can make for yourself && Im really taking it serious. The thing is everytime I start thinking about baptism, Satan starts throwing things in my head like "You know you're still gonna party, drink && smoke after you get baptized so whats the point?". It's like a battle going on with me right  now && I'm aware that I can't fight it on my own.... The other thing is that when I do make this big step in my life, how will it affect some of my friendships?? Especially the niggas I done passed L's around a cypha with, or drank a $60 bottle of Goose with..talk crap, threw up then fell asleep and woke up 8:00pm the next evening with.  .. && then I hear this still small voice in my head saying "Jess I gotchu...

Behind The "G Walls"

Today I received a letter from a friend back home who's been  locked up (Ricker's Island) going on 4 years. We've been talking back and forth for a while but I fell off. I guess I got caught up in my new life, I forgot about the people in my old one. He says he wrote me 4 months ago and I never replied, but he understands. From the way he talks now, I can tell that he's matured and he's trying to be a better person and live a positive life style. But he's coming out soon and he's already talking about making fast money again and it bothers me because there's no legal way to make fast money in the hood. I'm responding to him in a  letter tonight, but this time I want to write a letter that's going to make him think about bettering himself completely in every area of his life. So I'm going to take my time, pray about it, and let the words flow. Hope what ever I write has a great,impact on his life.
